Excellence Through Seeking Perfection

This counterintuitive talk will explore achieving excellence through a combination of aiming for the theoretical limit of performance (perfection) and fostering an environment of innovation, experimentation, and learning. 

  About the speaker: Jim Crocker

Jim is the owner and principal consultant at Discover Value, a Michigan-based consulting company specializing in training, coaching, development, and implementation of systems that lead clients to increase value delivered to their customers. Discover Value’s philosophy of improvement prioritizes principles and human connection over tools and procedures.

Jim has spent more than 25 years learning to develop and improve quality, continuous improvement, and agile systems from the board room to the front lines. His experience includes automotive, RV, office furniture, defense, and health care industries.

Jim has shepherded multiple organizations through QS9000, TS16949, and ISO14000 certifications. He has developed and maintained problem solving, visual management, and strategy deployment systems with an emphasis on understanding how key front-line activities translate into customer value.

Jim has a B.S. in Liberal Studies and a Master of Health Administration both from Grand Valley State University where he also serves as an adjunct instructor. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate from the University of Michigan.
